FoodieSwipe ("we", "our", or "us") is a restaurant discovery iOS app based in Hong Kong. We are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about how we use it.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we store it, and your rights as a user.
Information We Collect
We only collect the minimum data necessary to provide our service:
- Apple Sign In — Your name and email address, provided when you sign in with Apple.
- Favourites list — The restaurants you save or favourite within the app.
- Feedback messages — Any messages or feedback you voluntarily submit through the app.
We do not collect your location data, browsing history, device identifiers, or any other personal information beyond the above.
How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to provide and improve the FoodieSwipe experience:
- To authenticate you and maintain your account
- To sync and display your saved favourites across sessions
- To review feedback and improve the app
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a third-party database service. Our Supabase instance is hosted in Tokyo, Japan.
Supabase employs industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit. You can learn more at supabase.com/security.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties. Your data is never used for advertising purposes or shared with marketing companies.
We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- With Supabase, solely to store and retrieve your account data as described above
- If required by law or legal process
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, we will permanently delete your data within 30 days.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data

Children's Privacy
FoodieSwipe is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes through the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
